Future High Streets Fund
Future High Streets Fund (FHSF) is a central Government initiative to support and fund local areas’ plans to make their high streets and town centres fit for the future.
Haringey Council has put in a bid for investment in Tottenham High Road, covering from Bruce Grove to Seven Sisters, to the FHSF. It was announced in summer 2019, that we had been shortlisted for funding.
Tottenham High Road is one of only a handful of London High Streets which have been shortlisted for this significant funding programme.
Suggested projects include shopfront and public realm improvements along Tottenham High Road, improvements to Holcombe Market and proposals to improve the Bruce Grove Heritage Corridor. They also include business support, crime prevention measures and SMART innovations.
In January 2020, we submitted the draft Stage Two application (Business Case). If successful, the Tottenham High Road area could benefit from up to £30m of investment.
Urban design studio, We Made That, have been commissioned by the Haringey Council to assist with the funding application process.
Have your Say
As part of finalising the final Stage Two application which will be submitted on 30 April 2020, Haringey Council and We Made That had planned to run three drop-in sessions in March for the community to give feedback on proposals.
The first event took place at Holcombe Market on 11 March 2020, Wed 11am - 3pm.
Based on Government advice we have taken the difficult decision to cancel the two events planned for Holcombe Market on Saturday 21 March and Tottenham Green Market on Sun 22 March.
