Free for 2s!

With Haringey’s Free for 2s, some two-year-olds can have a free early learning place in a nursery, children’s centre, playgroup or childminder, for up to 15 hours a week.

Early learning is really important for children’s social, physical and mental development and also helps them to prepare for school – giving your child the best start in life.

NEW PROJECT HELPS YOUNG PEOPLE CHANGE GEAR

Young Residents in Northumberland Park and Broadwater Farm have helped set up a bike project to benefit their communities.

Your Bike Project is the result of the council’s consultation with residents asking what they wanted to see change on their estates. More employment and sports opportunities for young people were two of the top priorities, and so a programme based around bikes was created with the help of children’s charity, Wheely Tots.

The fund will help increase productivity, support quality job growth, create local workspace and enhance the Upper Lee Valley’s commercial impact.

Crowland Prinmary School plans for the future of Tottenham

When teachers at Crowland primary School used ‘All About Tottenham’ as the theme for learning this term, the intention was for pupils to have a chance to explore the area they live in,  and engender? love and respect for their community. What teachers hadn’t anticipated was the level of enthusiasm from pupils as they eagerly embraced the topic.

WHOLE LOTTA PARK LOVE

On a perfect summer’s day the community came out in force to support the first Hartington Park Great Get Together.

Organised by The Friends of Hartington Park and Carbuncle Passage the free event saw craft and food stalls, an inflatable disco marquee, a bat box making workshop, appearances from the Safer Neighbourhood policing team and the Spurs Foundation doing free health checks, and the chance for residents to have their say on the future of the park.
