The first LIFT Tottenham Artist Hangout of 2019 will feature internationally renowned poet, playwright, performer, graphic artist and designer Inua Ellams, writer of the hugely popular The Barber Shop Chronicles.

The event, hosted by Bruce Grove Youth Space, will see the multi talented Inua Ellams talking about his various creative projects and how he has developed as an artist. He'll then share some of his storytelling techniques.

Ellams will also be discussing his current LIFT Tottenham project; Alcohol, City Lights and Slow Songs, which he’ll be working on with local 16 to 25 year olds during the February half term.

What do we mean by Tottenham Artist Hangout?

By Tottenham we mean that you are based in the Tottenham area, and by based we mean that you live here, work here, or have a strong connection to the area in your life or artistic practice.

By Artist we mean people with creativity to share. You might be working across dance, music, visual arts, theatre, live art, design or other creative fields, really we are interested in people practicing any art form and at any stage in their career.

By Hangout we mean come, meet, share, debate, listen, respond, contemplate, produce, consume, and enjoy. It’s about making connections, with new friends, new collaborators and with us at LIFT.
