The old oak in Bruce Castle Park has been nominated for Tree of the Year 2018. The tree is one of only 10 trees from across England on the shortlist from hundreds of nominations. The Woodland Trust's Tree of the Year competition runs in England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. One of the four winners will then represent the UK in the 2018 European Tree of the Year contest.
Bruce Castle Park, Tottenham's first public park, is home to the oldest oak tree in Tottenham; an ancient sessile oak tree which is over 450 years old.
